Cummins launches EPA Tier 3 marine diesel engine

Recently, Cummins brought its new QSK19 & QSK60 marine diesel engine certified by US EPA Tier 3 to the market. It is reported that the Cummins Tier 3 solution uses advanced combustion technology to reduce the pollution inside the cylinder without post-processing. These engines are expected to meet the more stringent US and global emission requirements in the future.
It is reported that Cummins Tier 3 can reduce carbon monoxide emissions by 50% and 20% compared with the Tier 2 standard. The QSK60 is currently the only Cummins marine product that has passed EPA Tier 3 certification in 2012. QSK19 will meet this requirement on January 1, 2013.
